1. CityJet Orders Six Bombardier CRJ900 Aircraft
Dublin-based regional carrier, CityJet has signed a conditional purchase agreement with Bombardier for six CRJ900 aircraft and has also taken options on an additional four aircraft. This purchase agreement is expected to go firm on 31 January 2017. Upon delivery, the aircraft will operate wet lease services on behalf of Scandinavian Airlines (SAS).

VLM Airlines is to launch flights between Antwerp Airport and London City Airport. Antwerp and London have been linked with a direct flight since 1993, first by VLM Airlines (from 1993 until 2008) then Cityjet. Earlier this month Cityjet announced that it is to end its activities on the route with effect from 27 October 2017.
4. KLM to Operate Twice Daily Flights to Basel / Mulhouse
KLM is to operate a twice daily service to Euro-Airport, the airport serving Basel and Mulhouse, from the start of the winter schedule on 30 October 2011. KLM is taking over flights from Cityjet and will operate the Basel/Mulhouse service using Fokker 70 equipment.

Elbit Systems and Nicarnica Aviation have successfully performed ground trials, demonstrating detection of volcanic ash using the ClearVision EVS system. The Enhanced Vision System (EVS), modified to incorporate ash detection capability, is one of a kind in the market.
