Aman Resorts, Hotels and Residences in
Indochina - Interview with Tom Rutherford
(31 Oct 2021)
Founded by Adrian Zecha in 1988, Aman Resorts, Hotels and Residences
is today one of the most
exclusive boutique luxury hotel brands in the world.
If there was just one region of the world
which perfectly reflects the essence of what makes an Aman
property unique, it would the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS), and
in particular the countries of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand
and Vietnam.
Aman currently has hotels in four of those five countries and is expanding rapidly.
It already opeates a private jet,
fragrances, clothing lines and has much more in the pipeline.
So what makes the hotels in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam truly
unique? How have they been affected by the ongoing global COVID19
pandemic and which have done well in attracting domestic market
share?
Those are just a few of the many questions that Steven
Howard of TravelNewsAsia.com puts to
Tom Rutherford, Regional
Director for Indochina and newly appointed General Manager of the Amansara in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
In this interview, filmed over Skype on 2
December, Tom gives us an insight into what makes an Aman hotel so
special and why they are a perfect match for travellers looking
for exclusive luxury in some of the world's most culturally rich
and rewarding destinations on this planet.
Tom tells us how the hotels have been affected by
COVID19, which are open and which still closed, how the group is
using technology to enhance the guest experience and to ensure the
safety of guests and employees alike.
You will learn what plans the company has for
growth, whether COVID19 is creating new opportunities for
expansion and how the Government of Cambodia is using the downturn
in tourist numbers to upgrade the infrastructure in Siem Reap. All
that and much, much more in the excusive video and podcast below.

long until we are once again conducting exclusive video interviews
