Hong Kong Sevens 2016 - Interview with Luc Bollen, GM of The Park Lane Hong Kong

[HD video below] Long-time Hong Kong resident and passionate sports fan, Mr. Luc Bollen, General Manager of The Park Lane Hong Kong, a Pullman Hotel tells us about the Cathay Pacific / HSBC Hong Kong Sevens.

Mr. Bollen tells us what the event is like, why the Hong Kong Sevens is so special and what magic ingredient has made it the most exciting and largest Rugby Sevens party in the world.

We talk about what the Hong Kong Sevens means for business at the hotel, how does it affect the average length of stay and RevPAR, and how many of the 823 rooms have guests staying in them who are connected - in some way - to the event.

We also discuss why the Sevens is so good for business and networking, what the differences are between Wanchai and Lan Kwai Fong, and whether Mr. Bollen can recommend any particular watering holes.

We discuss late night snacks - what the Hong Kong equivalent is to a kebab or chicken curry and chips - after one, or ten, too many, and Mr. Bollen gives us his recommendations for side trips for those who are new to Hong Kong.

And finally, as a South African national we discuss whether South Africa can finally break their duck and win the Hong Kong Sevens. It won't be easy. All that and much, much more in the video below.
