Virgin Atlantic has started using augmented reality (AR) to train cabin crew. As part of an innovation collaboration with SITA, the airline is using an iOS app that allows cabin crew to walk through and acquaint themselves with the layout of Virgin Atlantic’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft without even visiting the airport or getting onto the plane.

Qatar has become the most open country in the Middle East and the 8th most open in the world in terms of visa facilitation, according to the World Tourism Organization. The UNWTO recently updated its visa openness rankings, confirming Qatar’s recent visa facilitation improvements including allowing nationals of 88 countries to enter Qatar visa-free and free-of-charge.

China Eastern Airlines has taken delivery of its first A350-900. The Shanghai-based carrier now operates an Airbus fleet of 356 aircraft, including 306 A320 Family aircraft and 50 A330 Family aircraft (figures at the end of October 2018). China Eastern is the largest Airbus operator in Asia and second largest in the world.
