The first phase of registration for the much
anticipated Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2014 will start
Tuesday, 15 October 2013, at 7am with the 42.195km Marathon event.
Registration for the Half Marathon, 10km and Wheelchair Races will
take place on 22 October, 29 October and 5 November respectively.
Chairman of the Standard Chartered Hong Kong
			  Marathon 2014 Organizing Committee,
William Ko, said, "In light of
the overwhelming response to registration in previous years, we
decided this year to divide the registration into different
phases. We hope the separate phases will alleviate online traffic
congestion, bringing a smooth registration process for all."

Applicants can register online via the
			  official
website. All runners who register online will find out immediately
whether their application has been successful, making this both a
convenient and an environmentally friendly option. The entry fee remains HK$300. Further information about the event is
available on the official website, or from the enquiry hotline:
			  2577 0800.
			  The
Hong Kong Amateur Athletics Association (HKAAA) has recommended
that participants assess their own fitness prior to registration,
and choose their race based on their own preferences and
			  abilities.
To help runners achieve optimum performance and run
safely and enjoyably in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon
2014, "Team Marathon Experts" (Team ME) will be available for
runners for the second consecutive year.
Made up of experts with a
wide array of specializations, Team ME will emphasize the
importance of adequate training and preparation, and its members
will regularly share running experiences and training tips on the
			  official website.
