Bombardier Aerospace inaugurated its first All-Series Operators Conference General Session by announcing that it has signed a comprehensive, five-year agreement with Luxair Airline to extend Bombardier Smart Parts program coverage for European Q400 turboprop operator Luxair, the national airline of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Luxair was the first commercial airline to enroll in the Q400 aircraft Smart Parts program to optimize component services for its fleet. Since 2008, the European airline has partnered with Bombardier to continuously improve dispatch reliability, part availably and cost containment for its Q400 aircraft. With the five-year Smart Parts extension, Bombardier will continue to provide scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a broad range of components (including engine and APU line replaceable units) and provide around-the-clock Aircraft-On-Ground response.

"As the 2008 launch customer, Luxair has once again selected Smart Parts as the right fleet management tool to meet our operational needs in the coming years," said Horst Lenhard, Vice President, Technical Services, Luxair Socit Luxembourgeoise de Navigation Arienne S.A. "The customized support and the close proximity of Bombardier's Frankfurt parts facility to Luxembourg enable Luxair to offer a reliable and punctual service to our customers."

Prior to introducing the Q400 aircraft Smart Parts program in March 2008, the Smart Parts program had been providing cost protection and budget predictability for Bombardiers business aircraft customers for more than 25 years. There are currently more than 1,000 Bombardier business aircraft enrolled, covering over 35,000 components.
