Touted as one of the most anticipated events on the Asian calendar, this year's Venetian Carnival at The Venetian Macau is set to kick-start with the hosting of the inaugural International Jazz & Blues Band Competition.

The three-day festival from 25-27 May, with a New Orleans Mardi Gras theme, is calling upon all budding performers with a flare and passion for music.

With less than 10-days still left to enter, this special opportunity will see a set of finalists flown to Macau, with flights and accommodation sponsored by The Venetian, for a chance to play and to be seen by some of the best in the industry while competing for an impressive cash prize from a pool worth up to HK$500,000.

"The 2011 Brazil-themed Venetian Carnival enjoyed an overwhelming response from the community, attracting an additional 38,000 visitors over the three-day period," said Brendon Elliott, Vice President of Sales and Resort Marketing. "The International Jazz & Blues Band Competition adds an exciting, new element and we are thrilled to be able to shine a spotlight on the creative musical talent displayed across Asia. We continue to reinforce why The Venetian Macao is the leading entertainment hub for the region."

The deadline to enter is 28 April 2012 at 6:00pm Hong Kong time.
