[HD video below] Airshows such as the one at Farnborough this week, are not just about brand new commercial aircraft such as the Airbus A380 or Boeing 787 Dreamliner, there is normally a major military component, both within the exhibitor halls, as well as in the flying displays.

And while the Airbus A380 may attract and wow the crowds because of its truly awe inspiring slow-speed skills, it is the military jets that blow you away.

In this HD video of a demonstration flight, the amazing F-18 Super Hornet fighter jet from Boeing, takes off in a very short distance, roars through the skies above Farnborough performing different moves, and then returns back to land. It is hard not to be impressed by aircraft such as this, which travel at such great speeds, and produce such a powerful sound that they often manage to bring Airshows to a near standstill.
