Ascot United took to their racecourse ground on Saturday, 18 August 2018, to take on Lydney Town of Gloucestershire.

After a shaky start for the home team, Ascot came from 0-1 down to win the game 3-1.

Ascot United's next league game is against Ardley United from Oxfordshire on Tuesday, followed by an FA Cup match on Saturday, 25 August 2018, against Horndean, a team that was founded in 1887.

Both Ascot United F.C., founded in 1965, and Lydney Town F.C., founded in 1911, play in the Premier Division of England's Hellenic League.

The Hellenic League consists of 3 first team divisions, 2 reserve team divisions and 3 veteran team divisions. The league was founded in 1953 and consists of 50 teams from the counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Herefordshire, Oxfordshire, Greater London, Northamptonshire and Wiltshire.

 Clubs in the Hellenic League Premier Division are trying to progress to the next league, the Southern Football League Division One - also currently known as the Evo-Stik League South.

You do not need to be a member to watch Ascot United's games, and reasonably priced tickets are available at the ground on match days. The racecourse ground consists of covered seating and parking, as well as a nice club house selling drinks such as tea, coffee and beer, along with a variety of hot and cold snacks. Surrounded by trees and with views of Ascot Racecourse just a few hundred metres away, watching a game of football here is a very enjoyable way to spend the afternoon.
