[HD video below] What was supposed to be a press conference turned into an unexpected and exclusive HD video interview with Myanmar's Minister of Tourism and Hotels, H.E. U Ohn Maung, about the status of tourism in the beautiful and mystical country of Myanmar (formerly known as Burma).

In this video, filmed at JATA Tourism Expo 2016 in Tokyo on 24 September, the Minister tells us about Myanmar's visitor arrival numbers and how they compare with last year.

We discuss which areas of Myanmar the government is concentrating its tourism efforts on, and what it has learned from Thailand's tourism mistakes and victories.

We also discuss what the Minister believes to be a priority within Myanmar's plans to grow tourism, the hotel industry within the country, airlines, airports, aviation and much, much more.
