Beijing to Host Sabre's First Travel Technology Exchange (TTX) in Asia Pacific

[HD video below] Sabre is expecting over 500 delegates from 26 countries to attend its first APAC Travel Technology Exchange (TTX), taking place this week in Beijing, China.

In addition to senior management from within Sabre, TTX 2016 has attracted leading agents, suppliers and other important members of the travel industry to attend.

TTX 2016 is especially important as it just over one year since Sabre acquired Abacus, so the company will use this milestone to update industry partners on any and all changes, as well as its vision for the future.

"A lot of the 425,000 travel agency subscribers to Sabre's global travel marketplace are selling travel to China today and this includes many of our travel agency customers in APAC," said Roshan Mendis, senior vice president of Sabre Travel Network APAC. "In 2015, over 25 million foreigners visited China of which over 60% were Asian tourists. So it seemed very apt that we hold our first major Sabre APAC travel technology industry event in Beijing, such an important global tourism destination. And of course, we want to give our customers and partners flying in for the event a great experience to remember. That's something we know Beijing will guarantee!"

Sabre will also use the event to showcase new technologies such as the new Sabre Red Workspace, a major solution launch for next year.

In addition, delegates can expect to learn about other solutions which travel agents can integrate into their workflows to help drive business efficiencies and ultimately increase profits, while creating better travel experiences for consumers.

"I hope the next few days serve as both a timely update on what we're up to, now just over one year on from our regional expansion, and a platform for colourful discussion on what lies ahead at the intersection of travel and technology. New technology is best adopted when people talk and share their experiences. The next few days are all about the exchange," added Mr. Mendis.

The Travel Technology Exchange will take place 21-24 September in Beijing, China.
