Iridium Spa Opens @ St. Regis Sanya Yalong Bay Resort

The St. Regis Sanya Yalong Bay Resort has opened South China’s first resort-based Iridium Spa.

Inspired by its natural surroundings, the spacious Iridium Spa is designed around a hidden, lush tropical garden courtyard that is open to the blue sky above. It sets the ambiance for a relaxing and rejuvenating spa experience.

The interior of the spa features a contemporary design utilizing a palette of natural materials and colors that include crisp white and ice blue granite, rich teak wood, and textured slate. The modern style contrasts perfectly with the traditional, lush feel of the exterior.

The spa offers ten luxury treatment suites, including two large couples suites.

Guests are guided along a journey of physical and spiritual wellness at Iridium Spa with a variety of signature and extraordinary experiences to release tension, pain, and anxiety and restore vitality and balance.

Upon checking in, each guest is afforded their own personal treatment suite with a private shower and bathtub where they can also enjoy private tea service.

The spa journey at Iridium Spa begins with a trip to the Experience Showers with Chromatherapy. These signature showers include multiple showerheads to target each meridian point on the body with a customized combination of water temperature and pressure. Colored lights are added for additional relaxation and relief.

The Aromatherapy Inhalation Chamber is a warm, humid environment infused with essential oils and herbal essences to detoxify and alleviate respiratory ailments. A few minutes inside the Inhalation Chamber helps enhance the effectiveness of many treatments and additional experiences.

The Mineral Salt Chamber takes detoxifying a step further in a steam zone that is infused with gentle, restorative cleansing properties of salt crystals from the Himalayas that remineralize the body and alleviate respiratory symptoms.

Guests can then complete or continue their journey in the Crystal and Ice Grotto, a sparkling and invigorating environment that utilizes cold temperatures and crystal to improve circulation and strengthen immunity. The Crystal and Ice Grotto helps to facilitate and increase the effectiveness of other Iridium treatments, such as body wraps and massage.

Iridium Spa Signature Treatments

Iridium Spa offers a suite of locally inspired services grounded in traditional Chinese healing techniques that combine aromatherapy with massage for a total sensory experience.

The Aromatic Massage utilizes Swedish and neuromuscular massage techniques to release tension in every part of the body. For a thoroughly traditional experience, the Tui Na Massage uses finger pressure to release blockages along the body’s energy pathways, restoring balance and stimulating vitality and energy. Or, experience the ancient healing benefits of Chinese Foot Reflexology, a therapy to alleviate stress and strengthen circulation through stimulating reflex zones on the soles of the feet.

Rollersage is a signature experience that utilizes the metaphysical and healing properties of semi-precious stones along with traditional, Swedish massage techniques. Each guest chooses their gemstone based on their unique qualities: Hematite, to restore circulation; Tiger’s Eye, to increase insight and optimism; Rose Quartz, to resolve hurt and anger; and Sodalite, to improve digestion. The stones are heated or cooled, and rolled over the body in a connective, flowing manner. Afterward, guests receive their stone in a gift bag to remember this unique treatment.

Body treatments include Bespoke Skin Polish, a relaxing, all-over exfoliation followed by application of richly nourishing natural products that leave the skin looking radiant and feeling smooth. The Revitalising Rose Hydrator is an intensely hydrating treatment that includes the rich properties of rose serum, oil and cream to leave the body radiant, soft and smooth. Or, try the Tropical Skin Cooler, a powerfully soothing and re-hydrating treatment to restore over-exposed skin.

A variety of rejuvenating facials are customized for guests’ specific skin needs. The Holistic Aroma Facial is a bespoke treatment that combines pure essential oils and plant extracts with specialized massage techniques to restore and recondition the skin. Or, restore skin luminosity with the anti-oxidant properties of the Radiant Facial. Facials tailored for gentlemen include the Reviving Facial and Clarifying Facial, both designed to erase the effects of environmental stress through reactivating dry and dehydrated skin with essential oils, moisturizers and massage.

From now through 30 April 2012, Iridium Spa is offering “Massage at the Beachside” pampering for couples in the spectacular environs of The St. Regis Sanya Yalong Bay’s Beachside Villa. A choice of Chinese massage or foot reflexology can be enjoyed while allowing the ocean views to mesmerize. The “Massage at the Beachside” promotion is offered daily before sunset at RMB700 per couple, plus 15% surcharge; a reservation is required.
