Seagate Launches GoFlexAccess Mobile Device App

Seagate recently launched the GoFlexAccess mobile device app for its GoFlex Home network storage system.

The new GoFlexAccess App delivers a fast and easy way to retrieve photos, movies, music and documents from anywhere while on-the-go with network access.

GoFlex Home network storage server is designed as a simple to set up shared storage drive, which provides back up and sharing capabilities within a home network and is also accessible using remote access from a personal computer.

Now, with the introduction of these new mobile applications, GoFlex Home network drive has entered the world of mobile connectivity. The iPad, iPhone and Android smart phones can now access and share terabytes of media which are stored on the home network. The benefits to having this network access are numerous:

• All of the shares on GoFlex Home, as well as all of the content stored elsewhere on the drive are now available from mobile devices;

• Create slideshows from photos in shares and play music at the same time to accompany it;

• Stream video to mobile devices over 3G/4G and WiFi:

• Access Excel, PowerPoint, Word documents and PDFs, etc.;

• The app features content type filters, to simplify access to your content that may contain a large number of files and file types;

• Album art support for music files.

Available in 1TB, 2TB and 3TB capacities, the GoFlex Home storage system provides plenty of room to centrally store, easily access and continuously back up files wirelessly from both Windows and Mac OS X operating systems on the home network to and help safeguard precious digital memories for the whole family.

Families can also add more storage to the GoFlex Home system by simply connecting additional drives to the USB port. Additionally, this same USB port can be used to wirelessly share a USB printer with every computer on the network.

The GoFlex Home network storage system can be purchased on Seagate's website and select retailers for a suggested retail price of Sin$219 for 1TB, Sin$319 for 2TB or Sin$379 for 3TB. Firmware updates and the new GoFlexAccess app are free for all GoFlex Home owners.

Now available for download from the iTunes Store and Android Market, the application can be found by searching for Seagate or GoFlex in either storefront using a computer or the app store on an iPad, iPhone, iPod touch or Android compatible mobile device.
