Delivery of the first Airbus A350-1000, the longest-fuselage version of Airbus’ A350 XWB jetliner, is planned before year-end now that Airbus has received the aircraft’s Type Certification by the European and U.S. airworthiness authorities.

22. A350 XWB’s Trent XWB Engine Achieves EASA Type Certification
The Airbus A350 XWB programme has achieved an important milestone with the European Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) award of the Engine Type Certification of the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB turbofan. This certification covers Trent XWB engines which will power the A350-800 and A350-900 variants. A higher thrust version of the Trent XWB is currently under development for the A350-1000.
23. Airbus A330-800 Receives Type Certification from EASA and FAA
The Airbus A330-800 has received joint Type Certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The aircraft’s certification flight-test campaign was performed by aircraft MSN1888, which completed the programme in 370 flight test hours and 132 flights since its first flight in November 2018.
24. Airbus A350-1000 Completes Noise Tests in Moron, Spain
Airbus’ A350-1000, MSN065 test aircraft, fitted with cabin, has completed a series of noise tests in Moron, Spain, as part of its type certification flight test campaign. The aircraft is scheduled to enter service before year end.
