MAJOR NEW SOCIAL EVENT UNVEILED 'LIFESTYLES' SET TO HIT THE UAE THIS OCTOBER

7 June 2002

UIM Class 1 World Offshore Championship - Dubai, Dubai International Marine Club, Le Meridien Mina Seyahi, and Streamline Marketing joined hands today (9th June 2002) to unveil the latest social event to hit the Dubai scene.

Called 'Lifestyles', the event has been created to complement the final leg of the UIM Class 1 Powerboat Racing season which takes place at DIMC this 17/18 October.

"Lifestyles has been inspired by the glamour and fast pace which surrounds powerboat racing as it travels across nine countries and the carnival atmosphere which accompanies each event," explained Saeed Hareb, Managing Director of Le Meridien Mina Seyahi and DIMC.

Held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Lifestyles is destined to be an annual event that brings together people who enjoy sport and entertainment at its highest level.

Focused on stylish and young-at-heart individuals with high disposable incomes for lifestyle and leisure opportunities, the event will be quite unlike anything ever seen before in the UAE.

And, over two days will allow guests to witness and enjoy glamour and luxury, alongside live entertainment, fashion shows, exquisite cuisine…and of course, the powerboat racing.

"Powerboat racing internationally attracts an audience who appreciate and anticipate the good life," explained Nick Webb, Director of Streamline Marketing, organizers of the event.

"By combining social entertainment with the glamour and excitement which surrounds powerboat racing, we're creating a unique event for visitors to experience for years to come.'

Utilising the stunning location of the lawns at DIMC, Lifestyles will be styled in a 'village-like' atmosphere with guests able to witness first hand everything from gourmet food to first class live entertainment.

"On top of this there will be a specially constructed stage for fashion shows and live entertainment ranging from jazz to blues, throughout the two days," Webb added.
