SriLankan Airlines announces the launch of its very own holidays website

The airline offers a wide variety of holiday packages. SriLankan Holidays and Stopovers offers customers holiday packages of one to four days or more, in Sri Lanka. A stopover holiday package includes transfers from airport to hotel and vice versa and hotel accommodation with breakfast. Customers may opt for accommodation only or accommodation plus tour from a selection of 21 tours which offer a cross-section of attractions the country has to offer. These range from one-day excursions to longer tours taking in the beaches, hill country, Colombo city, etc.

Besides SriLankan Holidays & Stopovers, the airline offers Adventure and Exotica holidays for those customers who have special interests. 

Under the Exotica range, the airline is offering ayurveda holidays, archaeology tours, meditation retreats, pilgrim tours, tours on tea and rubber production, gemming, photography, etc. Customers can choose to get married Sri Lankan style under the Sri Lankan Exotica programme or take a rail or agriculture tour. 

"The SriLankan Adventure range offers holidays on water sports, hiking, walking, trekking, canoeing and kayaking, white water rafting, fishing, visiting caves and more. 

"The time is ideal for us to launch our very own holidays website for the current climate of ceasefire bodes well for the growth of tourism," says G T Jeyaseelan, Head of Commercial at SriLankan.

Apart from the information on holiday packages, the holidays website has information on the airline's events calendar as well as popular events in the country. A 'site map' is available to assist surfers zoom in on their choice of package. A 'search' facility too is to be introduced shortly.

The next stage of development for the holidays website is to enable customers to purchase the holiday packages online. At present, customers wishing to purchase a holiday package may use the 'Contact us' section to email their booking to the respective SriLankan Airlines office overseas. 

The SriLankan holidays site is designed to support unlimited promotional offers and at present special discounts are available from Jetwing Travels and Lanka SportsReizen on selected Adventure and Exotica packages. In the future, each SriLankan overseas office will use the site to promote the special holiday packages offered out of its own station.
