Tourism Authority of Thailand to relocate to new permanent office

Travel News Asia 29 August 2002

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has begun relocating its head office from the currently leased premises at the Le Concorde building on Ratchadaphisek Road to its own 18-storey building on New Phetburi Road.

As of October 1, 2002, the new address of the office will be 1600 New Phetburi Road, Makkasan, Rajatevee, Bangkok 10310, Tel: (66-2) 250 5500 (120 automatic lines) and Fax: (66-2) 250 5511 (two automatic lines).

International visitors to Thailand will not be affected by the relocation since all existing distribution channels of tourist information will remain open and operate normally.

A total of 350 direct lines will be available and distributed to all major departments and divisions. The full list of phone numbers will be provided as soon as they have been assigned. However, email addresses will remain unchanged.

These channels are: 1) TAT’s 22 domestic offices nationwide, 2) Information counters located at the Arrival Halls of Bangkok International Airport and Ratchadamnern Nok Avenue Office, and 3) TAT Call Centre # 1672 which provides information via operators (8 am - midnight) as well as 24-hour audio-text and fax-on-demand services.

The TAT call centre is only available for those visitors who are already in Thailand. It cannot be accessed from abroad.
