JAL Business Saver Fares extended to 113 cities in USA and Europe

Travel News Asia 22 August 2002

Japan Airlines has filed with the Japanese aviation authorities for approval to extend JAL Business Saver fares, discounted fares for international travelers using JAL Executive Class (business class) from October 1 2002 through to March 31 2003 on international routes from Japan.

JAL Business Saver fares, first introduced in October 2001, have a maximum discount of up to 34.4%. Travelers who are members of the JAL Mileage Bank, the airline's frequent flyer programme, can earn miles from these fares at the rate of 125% of miles flown per sector, the same as the regular business fare.

From October 1 2001 JAL introduced the fares on routes to London and to 7 cities in the USA, and from October this year JAL Business Saver fares will be available to a total of 113 cities in Hawaii (8), mainland United States (66) and Europe (39).

Because of the forthcoming integration of JAL and Japan Air System (JAS), application of the fares is being extended to 12 cities in the JAS domestic network, currently outside the present JAL Group network.
