Fly the world for less in British Airways winter sale

British Airways’ winter long haul sale starts today, August 22, 2002, with thousands of discounted flight tickets to 49 far flung destinations, offering savings of up to £204.

Prices start from just £239 for a return ticket to New York, Boston and Atlanta including taxes. The World Offer tickets are on sale until 1 October 2002 for travel during different time periods from the autumn to early spring next year.

For those looking for winter sun, the airline has reduced fares to hot spots across the globe. Return tickets to Miami are from £279 (saving (£61), Orlando from £299 (saving £54), Dubai from £369 (saving £99), Barbados from £399 (saving £126) and Mauritius from £599 (saving £96). 

Seven African destinations are on sale including, Nairobi from £449 (saving up to £83) and Cape Town from £549 (saving up to £114).

Further afield Rio is on offer from £429 (saving up to £204), Tokyo from £585 (saving up to £180) and Melbourne from £749 (saving up to £57).

There are eighteen bargain transatlantic fares including San Francisco and Los Angeles from £279 (saving up to £34), San Diego and Phoenix from £289 (saving up to £57), Denver, Seattle and Tampa from £299 (saving up to £55).

Reductions are also available in the airline’s premier economy cabin, World Traveller Plus, offering wider seats with greater leg room. Prices for a return ticket start from £559 to New York and Boston (saving £133); £599 to San Francisco and Los Angeles (saving £136) and £869 to Hong Kong (saving £149).

The airline can also book a range of hotels when booking a World Offer with prices from £17 per person per night for a three diamond property in Hong Kong; £30 per person per night for a three diamond property in San Francisco and £57 per person per night for a four and a half diamond property in Dubai. There are also discounts of up to 15 per cent on Avis car rental.
