New Australian/New Zealand Representative for Macau Tourism

The Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) has announced the appointment of World Trade Travel Pty Ltd of Sydney as its Australian and New Zealand representative.

The Director of the MGTO, Mr João Manuel Costa Antunes said in Macau yesterday, August 15, that the appointment would take effect from 1 September 2002.

The selection of World Trade Travel resulted from a comprehensive search in Australia and New Zealand, which attracted 51 expressions of interest, followed by detailed submissions from 26 organisations.

“The degree of interest and the quality of submissions indicated that Macau is highly thought of as a growing and significant tourist destination for the Australian and New Zealand markets”, Mr Antunes said. 

“MGTO’s new representative will play a key role in further developing the Australian and New Zealand markets, working closely with the travel trade, media and consumers”, Mr Antunes explained.

The World Trade Travel team will be headed by, Managing Director Helen Wong, who has over 25 years of experience in the travel industry and Nicole Lenoir-Jourdan, Marketing Communications Director, who brings 15 years media and communications experience to this role. A full time employee (to be announced) will be responsible for specifically promoting Macau and liaising with the Australian travel trade. Another person will be based in Auckland to work with the New Zealand tourism industry. 

The MGTO Australian representative office will be located at Level 17, Town Hall House, 456 Kent Street, Sydney, Australia.

Including the newly appointed office in Australia / New Zealand, MGTO has altogether 15 overseas representatives all over the world, including USA (North America) , countries in Europe such as Germany, Portugal, the United Kingdom and Belgium, regions and countries including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Philippines, Korea, Thailand, India, Singapore, Malaysia in Asia.
