Evason Phuket Resort & Spa to Get New Pool Villas Later This Year

12 June 2002

The Evason Phuket Resort & Spa - the latest resort from Six Senses Hotels, Resorts & Spas, the operator of unique luxury hotels and resorts in Asia - is to add seven luxurious private pool villas by mid-October 2002.

This move follows the overwhelming success of the 40 private pool villas at The Evason Resort & Spa Hua Hin, sister resort to The Evason Resort & Spa Phuket. Both resorts opened late last year.

The seven villas, each with a private infinity-edged pool, will be built on breathtaking terraces adjacent to the resort's Six Senses Spa and all will have commanding views over the Andaman Sea and the Islands of South Phuket.

The total area of each villa unit will be 206 m2, (2,217 sq ft) with a private garden and outdoor shower, an outdoor sala and a 19.2 m2 (206 sq ft) swimming pool. Each unit features either a living area or a double-sized bathtub set in a lotus pond. The bedroom area is a luxurious 36m2 (388 sq ft) and features a king-size bed and large day bed, while the bathroom offers a double vanity.

Among the array of personal comforts is a home theatre with 25" screen, with DVD and CD selections available from the resort library.

The 290-room Evason Phuket Resort & Spa, located on Rawai Beach at the southern tip of the island, is stunningly located amid 25 hectares (64 acres) of beautifully landscaped tropical gardens, with its own private island - Bon Island - less than a ten-minute ride by complimentary hotel shuttle boat.

The renowned Six Senses Spa provides a relaxing and revitalising experience as well as healing treatments, and the resort's spacious layered grounds which wind their way right down to the sea, allow for several seaside restaurants that are among the most exotic dining experiences on offer in Phuket.

The resort has its own professional dive school onsite, and dive tours depart from the resort's private pier, making it especially convenient for guests who wish to dive during their holiday. At the same time, a wide variety of water sports, tennis and other activities are available for adult guests, while a professionally managed kids' club keeps children entertained all day.

A partnership between Six Senses, Deutsche Bank and Finansa Thai - a Thai investment bank - acquired the resort in 2001 and completely renovated it in a refreshing and compelling contemporary style showcasing a totally new approach to materials, finishes and colours that contribute to a refreshing holiday experience.
