ABACUS TO DEVELOP MARKETING & RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR SINGAPORE AIRLINES

12 June 2002

ABACUS International, Asia-Pacific's largest Global Distribution System (GDS), has been selected to develop, deploy and maintain a Marketing and Relationship Management System for Singapore Airlines (SIA). ABACUS is developing the system for SIA that will consolidate all relevant customer information, and allow efficient updating and access by multiple users within SIA.

Various controls and measures can then be accessed by business users both in SIA's head office and overseas stations to initiate sales campaigns and enable the tracking and monitoring of campaign performance. The new system will also help service staff deliver better and more effective customer service and support.

Mr Goh Choon Phong, Senior Vice President Commercial Technology for SIA said, "Providing excellent customer service has always been one of the pillars of our service charter and it is vital that we have reliable support systems in place to help us meet all our customers' needs. With the system in place, it will enable us to meet those needs faster and more effectively."

According to Don Birch, President and CEO of ABACUS International, "We look forward to working with Singapore Airlines on its Marketing and Relationship Management System. We have worked hard to set the industry standard with our IT suite of solutions. For SIA and our other partners, we will continue to develop solutions that are ahead of the curve in terms of convenience, innovation, reliability, speed and efficiency."

This is not the first time ABACUS has worked with SIA on system development. In 1998, ABACUS developed, deployed, maintained and launched its frequent flyer programme, KrisFlyer. KrisFlyer has gone on to win several awards.
