MART COMPONENT ADDED TO PATA SUSTAINABLE EVENT

10 June 2002

The Pacific Asia Travel Association PATA is pleased to announce the incorporation of a mart into the 1st PATA Sustainable Tourism Conference & Mart, to be held October 23-26 in Banten, Western Java, Indonesia.

The one-and-a-half day mart component will open up a host of business opportunities for attending delegates. The mart, in the form of table-top displays, will showcase the region's sustainable tourism-related products, facilities and services.

Table-top participation is limited to the first 50 bona-fide service providers. Business meetings will be pre-scheduled for up to 70 percent of appointment slots, the balance of which may be acquired on arrival at the event.

"The whole range of travel products and services under the sustainable or ecotourism umbrella is a fast-growing niche of tourism," said Ms. Sheila Leong, PATA's Managing Director-Events. "There is a huge variety of eco-related tourism products available in Pacific Asia and we aim to have many of them on display in Indonesia."

Delegates who register before June 30 will receive a 10 percent MasterCard earlybird discount on the registration fee.

Garuda Indonesia Airlines is offering to all delegates a 50 percent discount on air fares to Indonesia. Air-India is also offering a 75 percent discount for delegates and a 50 discount for spouses and accompanying persons on an unrestricted fare basis in any class for India/Jakarta/India.

Set in the unique environment of Lippo Karawachi commercial residential township, the venue at the Imperial Century Hotel & Resort will showcase a well-planned destination that serves the local community's residential and recreational needs.
