Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) and British Airways will host the Global Pursuits travel show for the sixth consecutive year. Scheduled for September 4-5, the Renaissance London Heathrow Hotel is staging the popular travel trade exhibition, which showcases Marriott and British Airways products and services to international trade buyers.

This year’s event will be the largest yet, with exhibitors from more than 310 hotels representing four of Marriott’s lodging brands and 37 countries. The remainder of the company’s more than 2,400-hotel global portfolio will be represented by Marriott’s Global Sales representatives.

Visitors to the show will once again be able to pre-arrange appointments at the show and attend any of the following seminars, which will take place on both days:

· E-commerce@Marriott – What Next? — Marriott E-commerce Division

· Technology in Conference & Events — Marriott Communication Solutions

· Trends and Spends — Meetings & Incentive Travel Magazine

· Latest Product and Services News — British Airways

· Making the Most of Your Events — Matinee Sounds & Vision Ltd

“The success of this event in London over the past five years has established Global Pursuits as a brand in itself and proved that the format works across international markets. As a result, Marriott has extended the show’s reach by developing other Global Pursuits events around the world. In June of this year, the show made its debut in Dubai, focusing on the Middle and Far East markets; and in November, the first Global Pursuits for travel buyers in Latin America will
take place in Miami. These developments are a testament to the effectiveness and popularity of the shows with the travel trade,” said Annie Brooks, vice president of worldwide sales for Western Europe.

John W. Marriott III, executive vice president of sales & marketing for Marriott International, confirmed the value of the show to both customers and the companies involved, saying, “Marriott has created a global sales force to meet our customers needs, and Global Pursuits provides an opportunity for our salespeople to meet clients from around the world. The seminar program gives visitors the opportunity to learn about current trends and new innovations in the industry.”

Sponsors of Global Pursuits 2002 are: Meetings & Incentive Travel Magazine, Mushroom Event Services, Matinee Sound & Vision Limited, Marriott Communication Solutions, Euromic and Sterling Travel.

Invitations to the show have been issued. Travel industry buyers who have not received invitations may either contact Trudi Wagner at Marriott via e-mail at trudi.wagner@marriott.com or visit www.matinet.net/globalpursuits for further information. Media invitations will be issued in August.
