Ajman Kempinski Hotel & Resort to open Ayurvedic Health Centre

Travel News Asia Date: 9 July 2001

Ayurvedia, the oldest healing tradition known to man, will be available at the Ajman Kempinski Hotel & Resort from July 2001, in the Softouch Ayurvedic Centre run by Dr Davis Karadan from Kerala, India.

A fascinating healing concept for each and every individual, Ayurvedia is an essential part of Indian culture and represents a way of life. According to Dr. Karadan "Ayurvedia believes not only in curing the disease of the sick, but also maintaining the health in the healthy." This is done through three different stages - daily routine and seasonal activities to prevent illness; purification therapy and medication for diseases; rejuvenation of the system to enhance the quality of healthy life.

"The number of health conscious travelers is increasing every day and revitalizing "Ayurvedic Holidays" are becoming more and more popular around the world," says Elke Mohr, Director of Sales of the Ajman Kempinski Hotel & Resort. "We want to give visitors to Ajman the opportunity to experience authentic Ayurvedic treatments whilst at the same time enjoying the unique tourist attractions, unspoiled beaches and the rich Arabic culture of the UAE."

"Softouch Ayurvedia" comes from Kerala, a region of India with a strong Ayurvedic tradition. Dr Karadan founded the Softouch Centre in Kerala 12 years ago working with his family who has been practicing the tradition of Ayurvedia for as long as 135 years preparing its own ingredients and medicines.

An Ayurvedic therapy is strictly personalised and the exact treatment and medicines are recommended after a detailed doctor's examination. Some packages, which will be offered by the Softouch Ayurvedic Centre at the Ajman Kempinski Hotel & Resort, are "Aging and Rejuvenation", "Aphrodisiac Treatment", "Slim and Beautiful", "Skin Care" and "Mental Wellbeing". To get a reasonable result, the above packages need to be practiced from a minimum of one to four weeks. Prices start at Dhs. 1750 (335) for a 5 day treatment.

In addition, the Ayurvedic Centre at the Ajman Kempinski will offer a variety of massages for mental and physical wellbeing - treating symptoms from headaches and joint pains, improving the blood circulation, purifying the body and cleansing the channels of circulation. Massages are priced from Dhs. 160 - 225 (30 - 45) per hour.

Ayurvedia is for all those desiring a healthy long life and its healing touch has been proven to treat various ailments like arthritis, asthma, allergies, respiratory disorders, paralysis and depression. The Softouch Ayurvedic Centre at the Ajman Kempinski Hotel & Resort will make this ancient wellbeing system available for the first time to visitors and residents of the United Arab Emirates.

The Ajman Kempinski Hotel & Resort is managed by Kempinski Hotels & Resorts. Kempinski's prestigious portfolio comprises 32 luxurious properties in Europe, the Middle East and Australasia. Each offers superior standards of service combined with a style that reflects the individuality of the hotel and its location.
