IMPULSE AIRLINES' BOEING 717-200 COCKATOO TAKES OFF FOR HOME

Travel News Asia Date: 9 January 2001

Impulse Airlines' latest Boeing 717-200, emblazoned with a sulphur-crested cockatoo - the carrier's new corporate imagery - recently spread its wings and flew home to Australia. The aircraft is Impulse's first jet to be festooned with the well-known Australian native parrot, noted as an inquisitive and cheeky bird. This jetliner is part of a current Impulse commitment for three 717-200s which will join the carrier's continually growing fleet of five 717-200 and 12 Beech1900D airplanes.

A new Australian start-up carrier, Impulse Airlines is flying the 717s on routes connecting Sydney to Melbourne and Brisbane. The Boeing 717 twin-jet is an ideal airplane on these one-hour routes because of its design for quick-turnaround, high-frequency, short-range service.
