GettingHere Technologies To Unveil A New Business Unit Specialising in B2B Corporate Travel Management Solution

Travel News Asia Date: 4 April 2001

At this year's PATA Travel Mart, GettingHere Technologies Pte Ltd, a travel technology solutions provider and enabler for the Asia Pacific and Indian Ocean region, will unveil its business unit specialising in a B2B corporate travel management solutions.

Called Cytric Asia Pte Ltd, the Business Unit focuses on bringing corporate travel to the desktops of all corporate travellers in the region. In this respect, Cytric Asia's mission will be to tap the unfulfilled Asian corporate travel sector in providing value-add services to the corporate travel agencies for their corporate clients, easing the entire corporate travel reservation process thereby increasing their efficiency and productivity.

Comprising of an Internet Booking Engine (IBE) and a Travel Management System (TMS), Cytric Asia's corporate booking tool offers real-time online reservation capabilities whilst being able to offer the corporate traveller full control over the booking process in accordance to stipulated travel policies.

The IBE provides travellers with the opportunity to access real-time availability data to over 700 airlines, 51,000 hotels and all major car rental agencies through their agency's designated GDS system(s). Cutting down on communication costs and time between the corporation and the agency, the corporate traveller is now able to dial up to the world wide web to check and make the reservation directly. These reservations are then queued directly back to the corporate agency for the fulfillment of their travel procurement for flights.

On the other hand, the TMS, through comprehensive pre- and post-travel management modules, enables the corporation to stipulate definite and detailed corporate policies for compliance. This ensures that all corporate travel bookings made through the system are strictly adhered to resulting in significant cost savings for the corporations.

With all data captured on this robust and complete solution, the ability to further consolidate and mine corporate travel data is easy, enabling the corporation to collate and analyse consolidated post-ticketing data, reports on travel trends, compliance and expenditure to further aid with budgeting and vendor negotiation.

Mr. Michael Loh, Chief Executive Officer of Cytric Asia explains: "Today, where corporate travel is considered the second or third largest item on a company's balance sheets, more emphasis is placed on the management of corporate travel. The efficiency, simplicity and cost savings in the booking process are a top priority for corporations while ensuring that their standards and corporate policies are not compromised."

Mr. Loh further adds that, "For the corporate travel agencies where value-added services are an advantage, the use of these solutions will promote greater efficiency and turn-around time in the agency, thereby increasing the opportunity for expansion in their revenue streams with the ability to handle a larger corporate client portfolio. But more importantly, the implementation of this solution will enable them to develop into true travel management consultants."
