Landmark hotel offers families attractive discounts, extra benefits, and a perfect holiday base to explore tourism trail

Travel News Asia Date: 3 July 2001

One of the Middle Easts landmark hotels is spotlighting Jordans appeal as a fascinating travel destination this summer through a holiday programme offering families attractive discounts and extra benefits.

From its prime location atop one of Ammans seven hills, close to the citys main shopping district, the Hotel Inter-Continental Jordan opens up a multitude of opportunities to sample the Kingdoms historical, cultural and leisure attractions.

As an added incentive, guests checking in between now and September 30 can take advantage of a new Summer Options programme, with single and double rooms starting at US$90 per room per night with service charges included.

Available seven days a week, the summer programme also allows guests to choose one of three value-added options a fourth night free when staying three nights, an additional guest room at half price, or full buffet breakfast.

"This is a very attractive offer for travellers from other parts of the Middle East, and overseas, who are planning to spend summer breaks in Jordan, said Gunter Grigoleit, the hotels general manager and regional vice-president, operations, Jordan, Bass Hotels & Resorts. The hotel is the perfect base for families and individual visitors who want to divide their time between relaxing, and exploring the country.

From Amman, hotel guests can follow the tourism trail to a wide range of historical, religious and geographical attractions; from the lowest point of earth at the base of the Dead Sea to 1,400 metre-high mountains, the desert of Rum, and the intriguing ancient cities of Jerash and Petra.

For summer relaxation, and rejuvenation, the Hotel Inter-Continental Jordan, transformed by a major renovation completed last year, has one of the most impressive spas in the region. Its outdoor pool and private sun deck is a magnet for sun worshippers, and other features include a wide range of cardiovascular and training machines, jacuzzi, steam rooms, sauna, fully equipped gymnasium, and indoor lap pool.

Now Ammans largest hotel, the Hotel Inter-Continental Jordan offers 478 guest rooms, including seven newly-furnished suites, as well as a royal suite. Diners can choose from Lebanese, Indian and Mexican restaurants, a Deli Cafe, the Terrace, serving dishes from around the world, and The Atrium, where guests dine beneath a spectacular, sky view glass roof.
