Reed Travel Exhibitions Appoints New AIME Exhibition Manager

Travel News Asia Date: 30 November 2001

Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) is pleased to announce the appointment of David Crooke to the position of exhibition manager for AIME, the AsiaPacific Incentives & Meetings Expo.

Mr Crooke has more than eight years experience with Reed Exhibitions, working for six years in the United Kingdom before moving to the Sydney office two years ago. He brings with him a wealth of experience in the management of exhibitions across a variety of industries.

Mr Crooke’s experience in Australia includes the exhibition management and launch of the inaugural e-business expo held recently in Sydney, and the management of Reed Exhibition’s largest Australian retail events, the Sydney and Melbourne Gift Trade Fairs.

In the United Kingdom Mr Crooke managed a number of exhibitions in industries such as manufacturing and electronic engineering.

“I moved to Australia two years ago to broaden my experience in international exhibitions and trade shows,” Mr Crooke said.

“The opportunity to work with RTE on AIME, one of the world’s leading MICE events, is both exciting and challenging. My experience working on other exhibitions with hosted buyer programs and pre-scheduled appointments will be extremely beneficial to my role at AIME,” he said.

AIME 2002 is set to be the largest event yet, with more than 600 companies exhibiting from 60 international destinations.

“Obviously the challenge for AIME 2002 is to ensure visitor numbers are strong, particularly considering the events of September 11 and the airline situation in Australia and internationally. The whole AIME team is working extremely hard to ensure AIME 2002 is a success in every way,” Mr Crooke said.

Mr Crooke will be based at the RTE office in Sydney and can be contacted on tel: 612-9422 2470 or by email: david.crooke@reedexpo.com.au
