ANSETT INTERNATIONAL EXPANDS CODESHARE WITH STAR PARTNERS

From 1 July Ansett International will expand its codeshare network in co-operation with fellow star partners Thai Airways and Lauda Air.

Ansett will codeshare between Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Bangkok on Thai Airways flights with daily codeshared connections from Bangkok to London and from Bangkok to Phuket. Additionally Ansett will begin codesharing on Lauda Air services between Sydney and Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne and Kuala Lumpur with codeshared connections between Kuala Lumpur and Vienna.

Vienna is being offered on Ansett codeshare services for the first time whilst the other new flights will allow Ansett customers increased flexibility in choosing the flight times that suit them. Stopover opportunities for Ansett customers in either Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur are now available for travel to Europe as a result of this expansion.

Both Thai Airways and Lauda Air offer extensive connections from their homeports of Bangkok and Vienna.

All flights to and from Australia are operated by Boeing 777 aircraft with Thai Airways using 747-400 aircraft between Bangkok/London. Lauda Air offers a same plane service between Australia and Vienna.

Domestically Thai Airway will begin codesharing over a number of key Australian routes.
