Saudi Arabia’s eighth Holiday Inn hotel opens in Al Khobar this month, as the expansion of the full-service brand continues throughout the Middle East and Africa.

The Al Khobar Holiday Inn, on Saudi Arabia’s East Coast between Khobar, Dhahran and Dammam, is the second Holiday Inn to open in Saudi Arabia this year, and becomes the full-service brand’s 64th hotel in the region.

“The new hotel will be another valuable asset in our ever-growing portfolio of properties in this region,” said David Atkinson, area director, sales and marketing, Holiday Inn, Six Continents Hotels, Middle East and Africa.

“Holiday Inn is world renowned for its high quality service, wide range of facilities and extremely competitive rates, and business and leisure travellers will find that the Al Khobar Holiday Inn is ideally located for their needs.”

The Al Khobar Holiday Inn welcomes guests with 106 rooms and suites, including 23 executive lounge rooms. Wedding, meeting and banqueting facilities cater for up to 1500 people while the hotel also offers a business centre, with full meeting equipment and support services on request.

The hotel has two food and beverage outlets; a coffee shop and an Italian restaurant with an outdoor terrace for special functions, and guests can take advantage of an outdoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and fitness centre, Turkish baths and massage treatments.

Offering 24-hour room service, and also boasting a gift shop, the hotel is within easy reach of the corniche, Half Moon beach, parks, shopping malls, Dhahran exhibition centre and Bahrain causeway. Also close at hand are the offices of ARAMCO, the world’s largest University of Petroleum and Mineral, UPM, the Chamber of Commerce building, and Dammam Port.

The opening of the Al Khobar Holiday Inn further strengthens Six Continents Hotels’ commitment to achieving excellence in all its brands, in every area of the world. The investment will entail adding new properties, renovating existing owned locations, and developing strategic mergers and acquisitions.

Six Continents Hotels currently operates 119 Inter-Continental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn properties in the Middle East and Africa, with another 21 under development in the region.
