China Southern Airlines Announces New Instant FFP Upgrade; New Upgrade Program Available On USA/China Route

China Southern Airlines (NYSE: ZNH) (HKSE: 1055), the largest airline in The People's Republic of China, is pleased to announce that all members of its Sky Pearl Club Frequent Flyer Program can instantly upgrade - through December 31, 2001 - from Economy to PremiumEconomy on its Los Angeles/Guangzhou non-stop Boeing 777 route.

Starting immediately, China Southern Airlines' Sky Pearl Club can upgrade (upon availability) - either at each airport or from the China Southern Airlines' Ticket Office in Guangzhou or Los Angeles for 30,000 km or six FFP mileage vouchers at 5,000km each.

"Sky Pearl Club members, ticketed in discounted Economy Classes (H, M, G, Q, and V) can upgrade free to W class in this new program. The Sky Pearl Club is the fastest growing FFP program in all of China with more than Million members," said Mr. Wei Jia Liao, General Manager, China Southern Airlines.
