ANA and HVN to Begin Cargo Code-Share

Travel News Asia Date: 2 March 2001

All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Vietnam Airlines (HVN) will initiate cargo code-share on Osaka-Ho Chi Minh City, operated by Vietnam Airlines, from March 25 and on Tokyo-Ho Chi Minh City, operated by ANA, from March 27.

On March 27, ANA will connect the capital of Japan, Tokyo and the business center of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City. With the start of this service and the cargo code-share, the carriers will take another step towards strengthening their cooperative relationship.

The volume of goods transported by airfreight, such as primary products and perishables between Japan and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is expected to increase, this will be accompanied by expanded transport of electronic equipment parts and high technology products as the economy in Vietnam takes off. With this growth, ANA and HVN will be playing significant roles in strengthening the ties of a commercial partnership that has been gaining steam year after year.

Add in this new cargo code-share with the passenger code-share flights between Tokyo and Ho Chi Minh City and expectation is that the exchange of people, goods and culture between Japan and Vietnam will be promoted to an entirely new level.

A summary of the cargo code-share may be found below.
