Pegasus Solutions’ Utell signs up the heritage Fullerton Singapore hotel for representation

Travel News Asia Date: 2 January 2001

Singapore’s newest historical landmark hotel, The Fullerton Singapore has chosen Utell for voice and GDS (global distribution systems) and Internet representation. Utell is the hotel industry’s largest third-party marketing and reservations provider. Utell is a service of Pegasus Solutions, (Nasdaq: PEGS) a leading provider of end-to-end reservation distribution solutions to the hotel industry worldwide.

Situated in the heart of Singapore’s bustling central business district, The Fullerton Singapore opened on 8 December 2000. Built in 1928, The Fullerton Building has been restored into a grand hotel. The building, with its Doric columns and monumental porte cocheres, represents the height of Palladian architecture in Singapore. It shares the same architectural grandeur as the City Hall and Supreme Court. Steeped in historical significance, it housed many occupants in the past, including the General Post Office, The Exchange and the Singapore Club.

Capturing the essence of a boutique hotel, The Fullerton Singapore features a fresh and contemporary decor that exudes warmth and comfort. Its 400 rooms and suites either overlook the sunlit atrium courtyard or have verandahs that open out to panoramic views of the city skyline, river promenade or Marina Bay. The restored hotel not only offers chic accommodation and modern creature comforts, it is geared up to meet the needs of today’s business travellers. Guests enjoy high speed Internet access as the property is equipped with broadband connectivity.

"Our vision is to make The Fullerton Singapore the best independent hotel in the world, hence we are looking for a reservation provider with global presence and technological superiority to represent us effectively in all the distribution channels. Utell is a very established industry name and it has an extensive network of offices and call centres. Above all, its reservations technology and expertise will provide us with a marketing edge as we launch our hotel to an international audience,” said Brandon Chan, Director of Marketing of The Fullerton Singapore.

“Utell is thrilled with The Fullerton Singapore’s show of confidence. The signing is a milestone for us as it is a heritage hotel that will add significant value to our portfolio of independent hotels,” said Kelvin Seah, senior vice president, Utell – Asia Pacific. “The Fullerton will be able to exploit our international presence, global connections and innovative technology. This exciting new relationship further underscores our position as the pre-eminent provider of sales, marketing and distribution channel solutions for the hotel industry.”

The Fullerton Singapore is now available for bookings. For its opening launch, the hotel is offering special lifestyle packages starting from SGD450. The promotional packages feature a variety of value enhancements that range from champagne breakfast to dinner for two, with options for concert or spa.
