CENTURY NAMES MARK SIMMONS VICE PRESIDENT - SALES AND MARKETING

Mr Brian Deeson, President and CEO of Century International Hotels, is pleased to announce the promotion of Mark Simmons to Vice President - Sales and Marketing for Century International Hotels based in Hong Kong.

In his new capacity, Mr Simmons will spearhead all sales and marketing activities of Century International Hotels. He will also be responsible for strategic planning, as well as the formulation and implementation of Corporate programmes. Apart from overseeing the Groups regional sales and marketing presence in Hong Kong, Singapore, Jakarta, Manila and Kuala Lumpur, other key areas of focus include eMarketing, branding, loyalty programmes, global distribution and sales networks, as well as increasing the Groups revenue growth.

Mr Simmons has over 14 years of hospitality industry experience, primarily in the area of sales and marketing. Having worked in Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Middle East, Mr Simmons' international outlook and knowledge of diverse cultures will be an asset in his latest role.

A Business graduate with a Marketing Major and a Senior Hotel Management Certificate from the University of Hawaii, Mr Simmons began his career in the hospitality industry with Radisson Hotels in Australia in 1987. He first joined Century in 1991 as Director of Sales at the Century Hong Kong Hotel. Prior to re-joining Century International Hotels in early 1999 as Group Director of Sales and Marketing, Mr Simmons was the Director of Sales and Marketing at the award-winning 600-room Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai, UAE.

Century International Hotels currently manages 21 hotels and resorts in seven Asian countries - Hong Kong SAR, China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines. Opening in 2001 will be the 140-room Century Samarkand Hotel in Uzbekistan.
