Delegates say attendance at International Golf Travel Market is even more important this year: IGTM now firmly established as the worlds top golf travel show

Travel News Asia Date: 26 November 2001

Despite the recent events of September 11th, golf travel delegates from over 30 countries and all 5 continents will attend International Golf Travel Market which is to take place from 5 - 8 December 2001 in Sun City, South Africa.

IGTM Event Manager, Mark Walsh, commented on the resilience shown by the golf travel industry at this uncertain time: 'Many delegates have explained that it is even more important for them to attend IGTM this year in order to discuss with colleagues the way ahead for the future and the strategies that will need to be implemented.

High quality buyers will attend IGTM 2001, with representation from all the major golf tour operators including Barwell Leisure, Longshot Holidays, Leisure Link, Lotus Super Travel and British Airways Holidays.

International Golf Travel Market is held at a different host destination each year. The destinations are chosen based on their golf facilities and attraction to the golf travel market. Sun City in South Africa, this years destination, is no exception. This unique resort offers two world-renowned golf courses and a huge range of sports, leisure activities, entertainment and game viewing.

IGTM is the only forum which brings together all sides of the travel industry in a programme of pre-scheduled one to one diary appointments. The show schedule is strongly geared to both formal and informal networking opportunities. Walsh continues: In addition, this year the event will take place the week after The Nedbank Million Dollar Golf Challenge and major golf celebrities including Gary Player are likely to be in attendance.
