EventClicks Expands Global Sales Force !

Travel News Asia Date: 26 March 2001

Asia-Pacific’s premier corporate event management company EventClicks, has extended its worldwide presence through the appointment of a new senior sales executive and the launch of representative offices in the USA and China.

Daniela Grendene was recently appointed as Vice President, Worldwide Sales. Daniela has over 17 years of hotel experience with such groups as Inter-Continental and Mandarin Oriental, including three years at the legendary Oriental hotel in Bangkok as Director of Sales & Marketing.

From EventClicks’ headquarters in Hong Kong, Daniela directs the company’s sales teams in Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and Melbourne and representatives offices in San Francisco and Beijing. Her primary responsibilities include generating corporate business, achieving revenue targets, creating and maintaining relationships with regional accounts and suppliers, in addition to developing global agreements.

Daniela’s global experience spans across the Asia-Pacific region where she has worked in Indonesia, Thailand and, most recently, New Zealand. Her fluency in Italian, English, German and French also allowed her to work extensively in London, Austria, Luxembourg and Germany.

EventClicks is also pleased to announce its recent expansion into North America where Steve O’Rourke represents EventClicks from his San Francisco base. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Steve is a seasoned professional who spent 10 years in the event planning field in Hong Kong and has extensive knowledge of the Asia-Pacific region. His primary role is to increase product awareness and develop corporate agreements with US-based multinational corporations and small to medium enterprises bringing events to Asia-Pacific.

“Steve’s appointment as our representative in the USA marks our entrance into this highly potential market. With shorter and cheaper long-haul flights, Asia-Pacific is becoming a more attractive value-proposition and EventClicks aims to open the door to the region to USA planners” said Daniela.

In addition, EventClicks aims to maximise its potential in the increasingly significant Beijing and Shanghai corporate markets through leads generated by its newly appointed China representative Jerry Zhou. A corporate event management veteran, Jerry has been assisting in the organisation of corporate events throughout China for nearly 15 years. Jerry also founded Fala International Consultants & Services (FICS), providing event-related services and a variety of consulting services to multinational corporations such as Motorola, Nokia, IBM and Swissair before joining the EventClicks family.

Daniela adds, “China’s events business is on the rise, especially in the incentives sector where we are seeing an increasing amount of outbound traffic to Asia-Pacific destinations. Through our new representation in Beijing, as well as 68 new mainland China venues to be listed on our site shortly, we hope to solidify our position as one of the premier MICE solution providers in China.”
