Travel News Asia Date: 26 June 2001

A unique property amongst the Himalayas in Nepal, the Jomsom Mountain Resort, located 'above the clouds 'at an elevation of 2910m and 'beyond the mountains '- Trans Himalayan watershed area.

To reach this enchanting destination, you have to either trek for almost 6/7 days from Pokhara or take a 20 minutes daily flight by STOL aircrafts from Pokhara. There are about 8/12 morning daily flights and is just a hop away from Pokhara. And Pokhara is just 30 mins by flight from Kathmandu.

The flight itself is thrilling and passes between the towering Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m) and Mt. Annapurna (8091m) peaks thru the world's deepest gorge in the world (Guinness Book of World Records).

The minute you touch down in Jomsom, the mighty Nilgiri Peak, looming right in from of you, is the most stunning sight that entrances every traveller from abroad.

The cool fresh and sweet mountain air activates the senses. With no motorable roads, no passenger vehicles, no noise and no garbage or air pollution, it is a perfect retreat where the whole area seems to have been captured in a time capsule.
