SITUATION AT BANDARANAIKE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, COLOMBO

The situation at Colombo airport, resulting from a terrorist attack on July 24 2001, has now been brought under control.

Emirates will resume operations into Colombo airport with flight EK076 from Dubai on Friday July 27. This is conditional on an uninterrupted state of normality continuing until then.

Along with other international airlines, Emirates suspended all operations into Colombo following the attack on July 24 2001, and will continue to do so until Friday. No Emirates aircraft, passengers or staff members were present at the airport when the attack took place

All Emirates passengers on vacation in Sri Lanka are safe and well and will be repatriated as soon as possible.
