CZECH MEDIA EXPERIENCE DESTINATION DUBAI

A group of twelve journalists representing the print and broadcast media from the Czech Republic visited Dubai to get a first hand experience of the destination recently.

The journalists were given a comprehensive briefing about the destination and its attractions by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing's (DTCM) officials at a luncheon gathering.

DTCM Manager Missions, Hamad bin Mejren said, "The Department participates at the Holiday World 2001 exhibition in Prague to target the Central European market and the Czech Republic currently ranks among the world's top 30 outgoing tourism spenders according to the World Tourism Organization's 2020 Tourism Vision Forecast."

He noted that the Czech Republic offers promising potential for growth and through such media missions, the department hopes to create significant awareness of Dubai in this market.

The familiarization trip jointly hosted by Planet Travel Tours and Cargo and Czech Airlines included representatives from CT TV, Prima TV, Impuls Radio, CRO (radio), MF DNES (daily) Pravo (daily), Blesk (daily), Super (daily) and Lidove Noviny (daily).

The combined circulation of the dailies exceeds two million while the TV and radio stations between them cater to the lion's share of the Czech audience.

Awareness of Dubai in the Czech Republic in recent weeks has been high with a DTCM video winning the best video award at the 34th International Film Festival of Films and Video-spots on Tourism and 3rd Tourist Multimedia Festival that concluded in Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic recently.
