All the 167 rooms at the property refurbished to offer extra comfort and warmth

Trident Chennai has announced the opening of all its newly refurbished rooms at the hotel. Trident Chennai is an elegant low rise hotel, set amidst 5 acres of verdant gardens. Conveniently located near the airport, the hotel is close to the new business districts of Srierumbudur, Maramalainagar, and Guindy Industrial Estate, and 15 minutes from the main city centre.

The 167 guestrooms at the hotel have been completely redesigned by ZIELER – LIM of Germany. The new rooms in Beechwood finish are contemporary in design, have elegant interiors with wooden laminated flooring and marble bathrooms which have been equipped with shower glass, a shower head with options of normal, soft and massage shower mode, shaving mirrors, hair dryer and weighing scale. All the rooms have mini-bars, electronic safes, complimentary tea-coffee making facilities, direct dial telephones with dataport and television sets with satellite transmissions.

For business traveller’s , there is an Executive Floor with 52 rooms, each equipped with a private facsimile machine and digital videodisc player. There is an executive lounge on the Executive Floor for business meetings with complimentary breakfast service and a happy hour.

The Trident, Chennai features two restaurants serving Indian and Continental cuisine and a bar. Facilities include a swimming pool, fitness centre, twenty four-hour room service and same day laundry facility with modern conference facilities that can accommodate upto 375 persons.

The next few years will witness The Oberoi Group expanding its Trident brand of hotels. At present, Trident Hotels operate in Agra, Chennai, Cochin, Jaipur, Udaipur and Khajuraho in India and at Jeddah, Mushayt and Makkah in Saudi Arabia.

Architectural planning and work has commenced on the 500 room Trident Hotel at the Bandra – Kurla complex in Mumbai, which would open in the year 2003. Another Trident Hotel is planned in Gurgaon.
