THE FAIRMONT DUBAI IS APPOINTED 'OFFICIAL' HOSTED BUYER HOTEL FOR ATM 2002

Travel News Asia Date: 24 August 2001

Luxury new business hotel, The Fairmont Dubai, has been announced as the 'official' Hosted Buyer hotel for Arabian Travel Market 2002.

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts have recently been appointed to manage the 393-room hotel, due to open early next year and have a well established reputation as North America's largest luxury hotel management company.

The Arabian Travel Market Hosted Buyer Programme 2002, will again focus on buyers from the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) industry and on buyers from Saudi Arabia, two markets which ranked highly on post-show exhibitor questionnaires.

"We were extremely pleased with the success of the 2001 programme and intend to build on this for 2002, bringing 50 MICE industry decision-makers and 20 top Saudi Arabian Tour Operators to ATM" said Lindsey Kavanagh, Marketing Manager, Arabian Travel Market.

The buyers will stay at The Fairmont Dubai, a luxury 5-star property, during ATM and will begin their week by meeting with exhibitors at an appointment setting session on the first day of the show.

The Fairmont Dubai, situated on the emirate's burgeoning business area near Sheikh Zayed Highway, will have 393 hotel rooms including 117 suites, residential apartments, business facilities, three floors of office space, a world class spa and health club and 12 food and beverage outlets. It is ideal as a conference venue, boasting 35,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, with an elegant 10,000 sq. ft. ball room.

"Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is delighted that The Fairmont Dubai has been appointed host hotel for Arabian Travel Market 2002. It will give us a great opportunity to showcase this new, luxury property and expose the Fairmont brand to travel influencers from the region and around the world," said Paul Ryan, Executive Director, National Sales, Europe, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts.

"The meetings and incentive market is crucial to Fairmont Hotels and resorts. The variety of our locations, state-of-the-art meeting facilities and the exceptional service offered by our properties make us an ideal choice for meeting planners and incentive organisers," said Ryan.

Arabian Travel Market 2002 will take place from 7-10 May at the new venue, Airport Expo Dubai.
