HONG KONG’S NEWEST MEETING PLACE

Travel News Asia Date: 23 October 2001

Grand Stanford Inter-Continental Hong Kong has announced plans to unveil five dazzling new meeting and conference rooms, in mid 2002.

Speaking about the new facilities, Director of Marketing, Christine Mechtler said, “Grand Stanford Inter-Continental Hong Kong is taking steps to attract increased levels of meetings and conference business. The new rooms will double the existing meeting capacity for the hotel and the rooms will feature state-of-the-art facilities.”

She continued, “A strong emphasis has been placed on incorporating the highest levels of technology into the design of the new rooms, not only to accommodate current guest needs, but also to exceed the expectations of the MICE segment.”

The new meeting facilities comprising 5 rooms, a service centre and a new business centre, will complement the existing Academy Room facilities which have been designed to suit almost any occasion. The hotel’s meeting and function facilities are well supported by a dedicated Catering and Conference team who provide planning assistance and ensure the highest levels of service. Designed with meeting planners in mind the new facilities incorporate a well-located service centre. Situated adjacent to the meeting facilities, the service centre will be an invaluable resource for meeting planners. Fully equipped with secretarial support and acting as the central contact point for all meeting planners while on-site, the hotel staff will provide timely back-up assistance to ensure the smooth operation of every meeting, conference or event.

Interior Designers have developed a classical yet modern style befitting a five-star hotel for the new rooms. One of the key features in the renovations to the hotel is the construction of a Grand Staircase finished in white Italian marble with a decorative wrought-iron balustrade, which will provide the entrance to the new meeting facilities. The sweeping staircase will elegantly link the ground floor with the lower level pre-function area. Decorated using warm tones with clever use of timber and marble, every item has been carefully considered, from the specially designed lighting to the floor coverings.

In keeping with the upgrade of the meeting facilities, a new Business Centre to be located on the Ground floor will also be unveiled.

Business executives and leisure travellers, testify to the warmth and friendliness of the staff and the comfort level upon which the hotel has built its reputation.

To celebrate the new meeting rooms, Grand Stanford Inter-Continental Hong Kong is providing a special introductory offer for any meeting, conference or incentive group booked before 31st December 2001 for the period 1st May to 15th September 2002. Discounts of up to 20% off meeting packages are available as well as special valued added benefits such as room upgrades and complimentary welcome or farewell cocktails. [Conditions do apply.]

New meeting rooms with state-of-the-art technology indicate that when it comes to meetings Grand Stanford Inter-Continental Hong Kong means business.
