Travel News Asia Date: 22 August 2001

Shepherd Systems, a leading provider of marketing intelligence systems and services for the travel industry, announced it has been named the exclusive reseller and manager of Galileo International’s Marketing Information Data Transfer (MIDT).

“Shepherd Systems is an industry expert in building successful applications that utilize MIDT and other data products for its numerous airline customers in this highly competitive information age,” said Galileo’s Steve Diffley, vice president, Airlines Sales. “Combining the data with the suite of systems and services in one organization is a logical step in our goal to create better value and seamless service for Galileo’s MIDT customers.”

Shepherd Systems helps airlines maximize their MIDT investment and stay competitive by offering a total solution – analysis and design, implementation, training and ongoing support. Airlines can evaluate buying patterns, target under-performing markets on the basis of detailed information, provide an accurate monitor for their marketing campaigns, manage agency incentive and override systems through sales-force automation, and evaluate new markets. Shepherd Systems provides complete data processing for all MIDT information housed in all global distribution systems (GDSs).

“Information makes markets move, and airlines need marketing intelligence and decision support systems to position themselves to compete in today’s rapidly changing marketplace,” said Mike Malik, president and CEO of Shepherd Systems. “Purchasing Galileo MIDT, combined with Shepherd’s advanced services, such as our new Market Intelligence Online suite of systems, has never been easier, more cost effective or more advantageous for our airline customers.”
