Galileo International Secures Five-Year Renewal Agreement with Omega World Travel

Galileo International, Inc. (NYSE: GLC), a leading provider of electronic global distribution services (GDS) for the travel industry, announced today the renewal of a five-year agreement with one of Galileo’s largest customers, Omega World Travel. As part of the agreement, Omega World Travel will not only renew existing business with Galileo but also convert new business to Galileo from a competing GDS.

Travel Weekly’s recent ranking of the top 50 U.S. travel agencies, credited Omega World Travel with being the 11th largest travel agency with $937 million in total revenues for 2000. Founded almost 30 years ago in Fredericksburg, Va., Omega World Travel has 1,100 employees and more than 258 company-owned and operated locations in the U.S., Asia, U.K. and Europe.

“We chose to renew with Galileo based on our successful relationship and their product offerings,” said Gloria Bohan, president of Omega World Travel. “Galileo provides excellent customer technology solutions including XML Select™ and Viewpoint™.
