LUIGI ROMANCES LA TRAVIATA

Travel News Asia Date: 20 September 2001

Award Winning Accordionist Arrives at the Jebel Ali Hotel & Golf Resort

Maestro Louis LeGrand, Luigi to his friends, takes over as entertainer at the Jebel Ali Hotel & Golf Resort's La Traviata Restaurant.

Luigi has delighted audiences at choice venues all across Europe and the Orient, including Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, Qatar and Dubai.

He fell in love with the accordion at the tender age of eleven, when his family moved from their Italian homeland to the South of France. The very first time Luigi witnessed live acoustic accordion music being performed at French side-walk bistros, he decided that this was his life's calling and began a six-year study of the art under world-famous master of the accordion, Dino Zanetti.

Over the years Luigi has recorded his own LP and went on to win many awards, including the first Special Jury Prize and Fifth Place in the nation-wide Italian Piano Bar Competition.

His repertory includes Neapolitan and French romantic love songs from the 60s to the 90s, including the legendary works of Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, and George Moustaki.

Luigi's secret passion is jazz, and recently, a few jazz-loving La Traviata diners have come to enjoy some of the most moving rhythm&blues classics renditions.

La Traviata Restaurant is open every day from 19:00 to 23:00. For further details and reservations call the Jebel Ali Hotel & Golf Resort on 04-8836000, extension 8604.
