Priority Club Worldwide Launches Road To Recovery To Assist American Red Cross Efforts

As Americans begin to understand the impact of the country’s recent tragedy, hundreds of thousands of people are demonstrating true humanity by donating time and resources to assist the many rescue workers and families in need.

Priority Club Worldwide, the world’s largest hotel loyalty program, has launched Road to Recovery, an initiative that provides members around the world opportunity to donate program points to the disaster relief efforts of the American Red Cross.

Running until Dec. 31, 2001, members may donate Priority Club points in increments of 2,500 for a $10 cash donation to the American Red Cross. Priority Club Worldwide will match each point donation. Donations will be used to provide hotel rooms and other relief supplies for American Red Cross disaster-relief workers and people affected by the recent tragedies.

“We extend our thoughts and prayers to every person who has been touched by this tragedy. For the millions of Priority Club members around the world who want to help, but may not know how, we offer them this small opportunity to pull together and help put America on the road to recovery,” says Steve Sickel, vice president of Priority Club Worldwide.

The American Red Cross is a volunteer-led humanitarian organization that annually provides almost half the nation's blood supply, trains nearly 12 million people in vital life-saving skills, mobilizes relief to victims in more than 60,000 disasters nationwide, provides direct health services to 2.5 million people, assists international disaster and conflict victims in more than 20 countries, and transmits more than 1.4 million emergency messages to members of the Armed Forces and their families. Road to Recovery, is part of an ongoing, charitable alliance by Six Continents Hotels® called Room for Hopesm which allows members to contribute their points in support of the world's largest humanitarian organizations, the American Red Cross and C.A.R.E. Priority Club Worldwide members to donate points earned by staying at Inter-Continental® Hotels and Resorts, Crowne Plaza® Hotels and Resorts, Holiday Inn® Hotels and Resorts, Express by Holiday Inn® and Staybridge Suites®.
