No PAL flight diversion

Travel News Asia Date: 19 November 2001

Philippine Airlines will not divert any of its flights bound for or originating from Manila to Clark Field or any other airport as a result of the ongoing repair work on the main runway of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

PAL does not have a flight that is scheduled to take off or land at the NAIA during the hours that the runway is closed to air traffic, which are from 11:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. everyday until January 15, 2002.

From January 16 to June 30, 2002, the runway will be closed for an extra hour, from 11:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., everyday. Likewise, no PAL flight will be diverted during this period.

Should any of its flights require changes in their published timings due to unforeseen events, PAL will make the appropriate adjustments so that the departure or arrival of the affected flights will be at the NAIA.

NAIA management has announced the closure of Runway 06-24 for a limited period to give way to much-needed maintenance work on the surface.
