SIX CONTINENTS HOTELS PROMOTES TWO GENERAL MANAGERS TO REGIONAL POSITIONS IN EGYPT

Six Continents Hotels has promoted two general managers to regional positions in charge of its growing number of resort properties in Egypt.

Magdi Takla, General Manager of the Hurghada Inter-Continental Resort, is promoted to Regional Director of Operations, Red Sea Resorts.

Robert Zoghbi moves from his position as General Manager of the Regency Inter-Continental Bahrain to become General Manager of the Sharm El Sheikh Inter-Continental Resort, which opens in March next year, and is promoted to Regional Director of Operations, Sinai Resorts.

After obtaining a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Takla worked in the hotel industry in Egypt where he held a variety of operations and rooms division positions. He later worked for Westin and Movenpick, before joining the Hurghada Inter-Continental Resort in 1997 as Resident Manager.

Zoghbi studied hotel and restaurant management in the US, and held a number of F&B positions before joining the Borobudur Inter-Continental Hotel Jakarta as F&B Director in 1990. Since then, he has been Resident Manager of the Hotel Inter-Continental Abu Dhabi, and General Manager of both the Hurghada Inter-Continental Resort and the Regency Inter-Continental Bahrain.

Six Continents Hotels, formerly known as Bass Hotels & Resorts, operates six Inter-Continental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn hotels in Egypt where the company also has ten properties under development.
