Kansai Council targets Korean, Taiwanese tourists with new offices

The Kansai Council has set up Kansai Promotion Offices Seoul, South Korea, and Taipei Taiwan, in an effort to lure more tourists to the Kansai region.

The offices will serve as Kansai's information-dispatch bases by offering Kansai tourism information and promoting commercialization of tourism products in major cities in East Asia. The council has asked local tourism-related firms to manage the offices in South Korea and Taiwan, from where a number of tourists visit Japan.

The Seoul and Taipei offices will seek to enhance ties with local travel agents and airlines and gather information in a bid to boost the number of visitors to the Kansai area.
